Explore Brisbane for the latest culture, food, sport and entertainment.

Brisbane, Queensland’s capital city, boasts a sub-tropical climate and a modern character, with the Brisbane River flowing prominently through its centre. This vibrant metropolis, Australia’s third-largest, is home to a culturally diverse population of nearly 2.5 million people.

Beyond the city centre, the Brisbane region encompasses Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan, Scenic Rim and Somerset local government areas. This broader region offers a wealth of experiences for visitors, including charming coastal villages, a vast bay dotted with islands like Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) and Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), and a scenic hinterland featuring historic towns, lush national parks, and productive farmland.

Brisbane itself is a dynamic and welcoming city. World-class sporting venues, conference facilities, a cruise ship terminal, parklands, cafes, laneways, and extensive riverside walkways contribute to its urban energy. Brisbane’s reputation as a major events destination is well-deserved, with its selection as host city for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games a testament to its capabilities. The city also boasts a year-round calendar of music, sporting, and cultural events, taking full advantage of its pleasant temperate climate.

Visitors to Brisbane are warmly welcomed into this thriving green city, where a contemporary lifestyle embraces the outdoors. A constantly evolving cityscape sits alongside abundant natural beauty, offering visitors a unique Brisbane perspective on adventure, arts, culture, and culinary experiences.
